It's Ludachristmas!

We got to spend a good solid week with out families at Christmas. Memorable moments include playing Scene It? Seinfeld Edition (which is really just a platform for my dad and sister to show off their uncanny knowledge of the show, and waiting in line in the freezing cold for HOURS to ride the train through the zoo (this is where I was reminded that ALL*STARS are not real shoes--not even a little bit. Something thick and cushioned would have been preferable). My feet thawed quickly over soup and breadsticks at the Olive Garden.

My SIL suggested we do this little craft:
You can go HERE for a little tutorial on freezer paper stencil painting.

Frosting cookies was so stinking hard. But I think that was only because we are such perfectionists.

Being home for Christmas was amazing and we are
so grateful to have such generous and caring families!

Too much food and so much love.

Birthday!

S'mores waffles and a Kindle Touch?

Someone probably should have told him not to set the bar so high so early.

Am I right?

These Kindles are amazing. Did you know you can check out eBooks from the library and download them without even going to the library?? How have I gone this long without one? Not to mention I can merely tap a word and a dictionary definition pops up.
Sadly, that morning was the only time I got to spend with the Mister as Terrible Tuesdays are the busiest for both of us. But maybe playing with my new toy and scouring Etsy for the most adorable Kindle cover ever made it a little less painful.

It's Never Too Late for Now

We drooled over this Breville Mini Pie Maker for over year. We don't know why we took so long to buy it, but luckily when buying all of the other small appliances during our post-wedding shopping extravaganza this one fell into the cart. The possibilities with this thing are endless. Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner. Fourth Meal. Dessert. Let me be more specific. We've made:

S'mores Pies
Gruyère and Onion Pies
Calzones
Chocolate Cheesecake Pies
Bacon and Potato Quiches
Chorizo, Pepper and Olive Pies
Classic Apple Pies
Classic Apple Pies
We buy the ready-made pie crusts, so in 10 minutes or less we can make some Caramel-Banana Pies or Chicken Potpies or Dulce De Leches Cheesecake Pies or Cheesy Vegetable Pies or I think you are getting the idea.

I've Been on Air Force One

Every year Smithsonian Magazine hosts a free Museum Day. Never wanting to endure the hustle and bustle of the more obvious museums, we chose The Museum of Flight. We read some tips before we left, one of which suggested the number of hours we should expect to be there. When we arrived I still didn't understand how that could be possible. We had been there an hour when I realized we had only seen a quarter of the exhibits!
It's called an X-Jet. And I have to have one:
They gave short tours of Outer Space:
The Air Force One was from the Eisenhower Administration:
